Can I use SSN instead of EIN in Form W-2 Box b?

No, you should not enter an SSN instead of an EIN in Box b. You must use the EIN assigned by the IRS. If you don’t have an EIN at the time of filing, enter all zeros. You can apply for an EIN by filing SS-4.
