How do I track the efile status?

When you use TaxFileApp to e-file 1099 forms with the state agency, we will send an email about your form filing status, i.e., whether the form was accepted or rejected by the state agency. 

In addition to this, after you e-file 1099 forms with the state agency, you can check the status of your form from the account dashboard.

Follow the instructions below to track the form status:

  • Sign in to your Tax File App account and go to the 1099/W-2 dashboard..
  • Select the tax year and the business name and click the "Submitted" tab.
  • Under the Status E-file column, you can view the status of your transmitted 1099 form to the state. You can also preview/download the accepted forms using the option under the Action column.

Note: Depending on the progress, you will find one of the below statuses in the Status E-file column.

  • Transmitted-Order Received: This indicates that you’ve securely transmitted your Form, and TaxFileApp received your forms.
  • Transmitted-Under Process: This indicates that the forms you transmitted via Tax File App go through an internal audit check.
  • Transmitted-Sent to Agency: This indicates that your form has been sent to the state agency and is awaiting processing.
  • Approved- This indicates that your form has been approved by the state agency. 
  • Rejected- This indicates that your form has been rejected by the state agency.

However, there are some states that will only provide you with an update if the transmitted form is rejected
